I played for the UVA men's tennis team from 2007-11, and helped to lead the Cavaliers to four consecutive ITA National Team Indoor titles. I am a two-time singles All-American player and was the first UVA player to earn the ITA/Rafael Osuna Sportsmanship Award. I was ranked as high as No. 1 in the ITA singles rankings, and as a junior I reached the NCAA Singles Championship semifinals. In the same year I played alongside Somdev Devvarman, and we made it to the semifinals of the ATP Chennai Open. We also won the gold medal in doubles at the 2010 Asian games as well as a bronze in the team event. Prior to my arrival in Charlottesville, I was a successful junior tennis player and ranked as high as No. 4 in the ITF junior rankings and played in all four junior grand slams. After graduating from UVA, I played professionally, winning seven Futures singles titles and four doubles titles in Challengers. My career high ATP ranking came in 2015 at No. 266. I also made three consecutive appearances at the Davis Cup, playing singles for India from 2012 to 2014.
